DAVAO CITY- The Ancillary Services Unit (ASU) here has extracted more than 3,000 cubic meters of waste from various waterways in the city since January to June this year.

YASU head Paul Bermejo in a report from the City Information Office said the areas covered are barangays and subdivisions that usually air their concerns through the Davao City Reports.

"Tibuok Davao na ni siya, gikan na ni sa Davao City Reports, kadtong mga ginabalik balikan na flood-prone area, and kadtong mga request nga gikan sa barangay,” Bermejo said.

ASU said the 3,334 cubic meters extracted covered January to June from a total length of 17, 348 meters or more than 17 kilometers of canals.

According to Bermejo, three teams are incharge of the clearing operations. A team is also deployed at night.

All barangays are also encouraged to help ASU in clearing canals whether there is no rain or flood.

Bermejo encourages the public to dispose  their wastes properly.
