The webinar aims to raise awareness and help netizens on the appropriate use of the tools, resources, and online platforms in the New Normal.
DOST 11 regional director Anthony Sales said the COVID-19 pandemic has affected people's ways of doing things and almost everything went online and the digital platform has become highly relevant for many sectors, from teaching, learning, working, training, and even starting and doing business.
Sales said with more and more people spending longer hours using the Internet, it is crucial in this digital era to promote digital literacy.
The first part of the Digital Tayo webinar series is “Digital Empowerment” which will be held via Zoom platform and Facebook Live on November 19 at 2 P.M.- 3:30 P.M.
The public, especially students, are encouraged to join to know about the effective and responsible use of social media platforms in promoting advocacies and empowering different sectors of the society. The topics will be discussed by the Department of Education (DepEd) InSet Resource Speaker, Stephen Ong.
A week after, this will be followed through by “Digital Engagement” webinar which intends to educate the public, most especially the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSMEs), business owners, and aspiring entrepreneurs in engaging with different clients and potential customers and collaborators, increasing client reach, and in establishing healthy online relationships.
It will be conducted on November 26, 2021 at 2 P.M.-3:30 P.M. with the same online platforms.
"Take advantage of these online platforms to engage, learn, and create safe spaces and positive online experiences amidst the pandemic”, Sales said.
