Top trail runners from 25 nations will compete in the 75-kilometer category on the Cruz Trail to Mt. Apo, beginning at the Playa De Oboza Resort in Darong, Sta. Cruz towards Mount Apo's peak.
A 100-kilometer and 50-kilometer trail ultramarathons are additional categories.
The Department of Tourism XI, represented by Regional Director Tanya R. Tan is a strong supporter of the event and will cover the costs of finalist competitors' travel and lodging, as well as event documentation, marketing, and promotion.
The Department of Environment and Natural Resources has also given enormous support by formally sanctioning the event through a Protected Area Management Board resolution.
The event will also have enormous support from the Provincial Government of Davao del Sur, represented by Governor Yvonne Cagas. (Romeo Braceros Jr.)
