Earlier, Tancontian revealed that she has decided to lower her weight to compete in lower categories from her usual above 80-kilogram category.
In an interview over PTV Sports, Tancontian explained going down in weight to around 14 kilos is a good move for her part so that her body can still adjust and that she can win more medals for the Philippines in international Sambo tournaments.
Aside from reducing weight, Tancontian also hopes to compete in more international Sambo competitions to gain more experience and confidence.
"I think ang pagsali ko sa more Sambo competitions will help me gain more self confidence," Tancontian said.
