Aaron Aton rules YMCA Students Rapid Chess Tournament
DAVAO CITY---Aaron Aton of Mintal Comprehensive High School, won the 4th Edition YMCA Students Rapid Chess Tournament on September 24 held at the YMCA building in Jacinto Extension, this city.

Aton scored 4.5 points to win the tournament featuring some of the top young chessers in Mindanao.

The second place went to Aaron Limpangog of Baguio National High School of Arts, scoring four points.

Juan Ryu Bagonoc of Central Mindanao University Science took third place.

Aside from the regular winners, some special awards were also given to outstanding chessers of the tournament.

Nathalie Suter, from Philippine Nikkei Jin Kai International and daughter of broadcaster Jhun Suter, got the best female award.

Princess Simbajon of Panabo National High School won as best under-12 female.

Heidern Nephi Dimaandal, of Davao City SDA School and the son of PDEA spokesperson Noli Dimaandal, won as best under-12 male.

All the winners received medals and certificates as prizes.

The Philippine Sports Commission provided the medals.
