₱121K shabu seized in Monkayo drug den raid; 3 arrested

Authorities arrested three individuals and confiscated suspected shabu worth approximately ₱121,600 during a joint anti-drug operation that led to the closure of an alleged drug den in Barangay Union, Monkayo, on October 31.

The operation was conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 11 (PDEA RO11), through its Davao de Oro Provincial Office, in coordination with the Davao de Oro Police Provincial Office and the Monkayo Municipal Police Station.

Authorities raided the suspected drug den in Purok Duranta at around 3:35 p.m., following a successful buy-bust operation.

The primary target, identified as alias “Mar-Mar,” 28, was arrested after allegedly selling one gram of suspected shabu worth ₱6,000 to a PDEA poseur-buyer.

Also apprehended were alias “Ian,” who allegedly worked at the drug den, and alias “Dodong,” who was reportedly visiting the establishment during the operation.

Operatives seized five sachets of suspected shabu weighing approximately 17 grams, with an estimated street value of ₱115,600, along with drug paraphernalia and marked buy-bust money.

The three suspects are expected to face charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

PDEA RO11 reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying anti-illegal drug operations and working closely with law enforcement agencies to dismantle drug networks and protect communities across the Davao Region.
