10th ID head presides over 60th historic change of command

Major General Alvin Luzon, Commander of the Philippine Army's 10th Infantry (Agila) Division presided over the Change of Command Ceremony of the 60th Infantry Battalion on February 6, 2026, at Camp Morgia, Asuncion, Davao del Norte.

This marks the completion of the historic tour of Lieutenant Colonel Jovily Carmel Cabading, the first female Infantry Battalion Commander in the Philippine Army.

Lieutenant Colonel Jesus Rosete replaced Cabading as 60th Battalion Commander.

Cabading’s leadership, professionalism, and operational excellence significantly contributed to the battalion’s mission readiness and operational effectiveness.

Luzon in his message  commended  Cabading for demonstrating that effective leadership is anchored on character, competence, and courage—not gender—and for leading a highly disciplined and mission-capable unit that upheld the core values of the Philippine Army.

Luzon called on the officers and enlisted personnel of the 60IB to extend their full support to the new commander, emphasizing that unity of command, teamwork, and shared purpose are vital in sustaining operational gains and achieving mission success.

Likewise expressed full confidence in Rosete’s ability to build on the accomplishments of his predecessor and further strengthen the battalion’s role in maintaining peace and security within the division’s area of responsibility.

“As leaders change, our mission endures. Stand firm, stay professional, and continue to serve with honor,” Luzon emphasized.

The ceremony concluded with the traditional Uyagdok ritual performed by members of the Dibabawon-Manobo tribes, symbolizing blessings, protection, and harmony between the Mediator Battalion and the local community.
