135 New Army Privates Complete Operations Orientation Course, Demonstrate CQB, Hostage Rescue Skills

MAWAB, Davao de Oro – A total of 135 newly enlisted privates, composed of 122 males and 13 females, successfully completed the Operations Orientation Course Class 02-2026 during the Closing Ceremony held at the 10th Division Training School, Brgy. Tuboran, Mawab, Davao de Oro, on July 4, 2026.

Marking the culmination of the course, the graduates demonstrated their combat readiness through a realistic capability demonstration featuring Arnis and Pekiti-Tirsia Kali martial arts, alongside Close-Quarter Battle (CQB) and Hostage Rescue operations. The exercise included, tactical vehicle infiltration, movement formations, wall assault techniques, room-clearing procedures, and hostage rescue, highlighting the operational skills, discipline, and readiness they developed throughout the course. 

The Closing Ceremony was attended by Colonel Ronaldo Valdez, Deputy Brigade Commander of the 1003rd Infantry Brigade, 10th Infantry (Agila) Division, as the Guest of Honor and Speaker. 

Major General Alvin Luzon, Commander of the 10th Infantry (Agila) Division, emphasized that the successful completion of the course marks the beginning of the graduates' commitment to serve the nation with honor and professionalism. 

"I commend our 135 new privates for successfully completing the Operations Orientation Course. This training is the foundation of your profession as soldiers and has prepared you for the demands of military service. As you join our operational units, uphold the highest standards of discipline, professionalism, integrity, and selfless service as you fulfill your duty of protecting the people and preserving the peace we have worked hard to achieve," Maj. Gen. Luzon said. 

Following their graduation, the new privates will be deployed to the different subordinate units of the 10th Infantry (Agila) Division to strengthen the Division's operational capabilities. As the Division remains immersed in External Security Operations while sustaining the gains of Internal Security Operations across its insurgency-free Area of Operations, the newly trained soldiers will enhance mission readiness and support the Philippine Army's mandate of defending the nation's territorial integrity and sovereignty.
