On May 21, the electric cooperative replaced a total of 57 dilapidated poles in different areas throughout its service territory covering Davao del Norte and Davao de Oro.
The 57 new poles were distributed to the following: 4 poles in Tagum City, 14 poles in the municipalities of Nabunturan, Mawab and Maco of Davao de Oro, and 39 poles in the municipalities of Asuncion, Laak, San Isidro and Talaingod in Davao del Norte.
“Today, May 21, 2022,NORDECO, Inc. Warriors of Light are in full force working with love to replace the fifty-seven (57) dilapidated poles,” Nordeco said in a statement.
Strong, sturdy utility poles ensure a reliable electric system. Nordeco said its crew routinely inspect thousands of poles for decay caused by exposure to various elements and other reasons.
Nordeco said poles need to be replaced for other reasons besides decay and old age. It mentioned weather disasters, power line relocation or upgrades and car crashes as potential causes for immediate replacement.
“Under these circumstances other than decay and old age, utility poles should be replaced or rehabilitated. These tall structures are the backbone of our distribution work.” Nordeco further said. Photos Nordeco Facebook Page
