Disc Jockey, 10 others nabbed as PDEA dismantles alleged drug den; P255K worth of ecstasy, marijuana seized

DAVAO CITY - A raid in a bar at Sales St., Barangay 27-C here early morning Saturday, July 11 led to the discovery of a drug den within the premises as with the arrest of at least 11 drug suspects including the owner of the establishment

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) reported that the target  of the buy-bust operation, identified only as alias "DJ Kar," 26 years old, single, and a disc jockey, was arrested after he allegedly sold one small tape-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing four suspected methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), commonly known as "ecstasy," valued at ₱14,000 to a PDEA operative acting as a poseur-buyer.

Also arrested were the alleged drug den maintainer and bar owner, identified only as alias "Edward"; the alleged drug den employees, identified only as aliases "Ryan," "Harvey," and "Raul"; and the alleged drug den visitors, identified only as aliases "Vince," "Nathan," "Agatha," "Destin," "Marl," and "Kaito."

Seized during the operation were 65 marijuana vape cartridges, two 500-mL bottles containing suspected diluted ecstasy, assorted drug paraphernalia, and the marked buy-bust money. The total estimated value of the seized illegal drugs was ₱255,000.

The arrested individuals will face appropriate charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, as amended.
