POC president Abraham "Bambol" Tolentino appointed Tancontian to the SEA games role since he is a reliable sports official who cares for the athletes since he was a bemedalled athlete in his younger years.
As DCDM, Tancotian is tasked on taking care of the needs of the SEA Games athletes to ensure they can perform well in their chosen sports.(Romeo Braceros Jr.)
