In its report, the City Information Office (CIO) said the city has already administered the first booster to 18 percent of the fully immunized Dabawenyos and no mortality has been recorded.
This only proves, according to Lopez, that the vaccines are safe for every eligible person.
The city has already administered the first booster dose to 244,800 individuals, or 18.74 percent of the 1,306,446 fully immunized Dabawenyos as of April 22.
He said this is higher compared to the data on April 12, 2022, that recorded 240,672 individuals given the booster dose, or 18.48 percent of the fully immunized individuals.
Lopez reiterates that the anti-COVID booster shot is an added layer of protection against the severity of existing and new variants.
The city has been rolling out in the barangays more mobile vaccinations in partnership with the USAID and Unicef to cover more eligible persons to be vaccinated.
CIO said the vaccination cluster also uses family profiling in determining individuals who have not yet received primary and the booster dose in the barangays.
