On Monday, Davao City 1st District Representative Paolo “Pulong” Duterte and PPP Partylist Rep. Harold Duterte personally led the distribution of 2,000 corrugated roofing sheets to families displaced by the recent fire.
The materials will be used for the construction and repair of damaged houses in the affected communities.
Barangay 21-C Captain Joenard Gabrillo admitted he was caught off guard when Duterte’s team arrived.
“Nakurat gyud ko. Abi nako humana ang tabang ni Cong. Pulong, pero kalit lang niabot nga nagdala ug mga materyales,” Kap Gabrillo said, expressing gratitude for the continuing assistance.
Earlier, the Dutertes were among the first to respond following the incident, providing food packs, financial assistance, kitchen utensils such as kalderos, and psychosocial support to the victims.
Rep. Duterte emphasized that their assistance does not end with the initial relief operations.
“We will continue to help until every family is able to rebuild their homes and stand back on their feet,” he said.
The Dutertes also expressed gratitude to local volunteers, barangay officials, and donors who joined in the continuing relief and rehabilitation efforts.
The series of aid distributions underscores the family’s long-standing commitment to community service and compassion, especially in times of crisis.
