Can Manny make another history?

Manny Pacquiao, a very famous Filipino Pro boxer, wants to represent the Philippines in the Olympics next year.

Pacquiao announced this information while introducing his new organization, the Maharlika Pilipinas Volleyball Association (MPVA), at the Sheraton Hotel on Friday, September 15. "I am eagerly waiting for that chance. I can't wait for it. "I went to Manila because I wanted to join the Philippine national team," Pacquiao said in Filipino. "But I didn't get selected because they said I lack boxing skills. That is the reason why I had to start working as a professional when I was 16 years old. But since the start, my dream and what I truly want is to win a gold medal at the Olympics".

Pacquiao said he wants to join the Olympics last month, and the president of the Philippine Olympic Committee, Abraham 'Bambol' Tolentino, made the announcement. Pacquiao has two options to qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics. There will be two tournaments in the first and second parts of 2024 to determine who qualifies for the Olympics. The other option is for Pacquiao to qualify for the Olympics through the Universality Rule. The International Olympic Committee may give him this opportunity. However, there are only nine spots available under Universality at the Paris Games. Out of these, five spots are for women and only four are for men.

The Asian Games in Hangzhou, China will be held soon. They usually determine who can compete in the Olympics, but Pacquiao, who is 44 years old, won't be able to participate in the tournament. This is because the age limit for boxing is 40 years old.
