PRO 11 director PBGen Alden B. Delvo praised Police Staff Sergeant Rodel Bustamante for winning the gold in the Men's Masters 40+ 5,000 meter walk.
In a Facebook post, Bustamante said he is happy and proud that his victory was recognized by his superior officer.
"I am so thankful for having a boss who is generous, kindhearted, and lowkey towards his men. I was able to join WPFG2023 because of him, Sir PBGen Alden B Delvo Lone Wolffe, and his wife, Ma'am Goldie Delvo. I am so proud because I am part of his command," Bustamante said.
Bustamante won the gold in the same event at Rotterdam, Netherlands, on July 24, 2022.
In 2019, Bustamante also won a silver medal in the same event in Chengdu, China.
More than 10,000 competitors from 70 different countries participated in the WPFG2023.
They competed in 63 sports, including CrossFit, athletics, water polo, kite surfing, and the ultimate firefighter.
