What does the Lord require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways, to love Him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
and call on me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me.β
For everything in the worldβthe lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of lifeβcomes not from the Father but from the world.
All things are lawful for me,β but not all things are helpful. βAll things are lawful for me,β but I will not be dominated by anything.
I give thanks to my God for every remembrance of you!
He who testifies to these things says, "Yes, I am coming soon.
In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.
So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit.
Do not be misled: βBad company corrupts good character.
Jesus said, βtruly, truly, I say to you, you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice; you will grieve, but your grief will be turned into joy.
βI can do all this through him who gives me strength.β
βIt is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.β
They have sunk deep into corruption, as in the days of Gibeah. God will remember their wickedness and punish them for their sins.
Woe to the sinful nation, a people whose guilt is great, a brood of evildoers, children given to corruption! They have forsaken the LORD; they have spurned the Holy One of Israel and turned their backs on him.
