The Davao Region registered a 14.4% decrease in focus crime incidents from January to September this year, according to the Police Regional Office 11.

The decline covered the region’s monitored focus crimes, including murder, homicide, physical injury, rape, robbery, theft, and carnapping.

Despite the overall drop, Dela Rey noted a slight increase in specific cases, with motorcycle carnapping up by one incident and vehicle carnapping by three.

She said the reduction in crime is being supported by the directives of Acting PRO 11 Regional Director Brigadier General Benigno L. Guzman, who has emphasized the police force’s “5Cs” strategy: Crime Prevention, Crime Solution, Community Engagement, Capability Development, and Collaboration and Good Governance.
