Produced by Bec and Geri’s, Kapelato currently comes in seven flavors, using only two main ingredients: fruits and coconut milk sourced either from their own farm or from other local farmers.
“By using locally grown coconuts, fruits, and other farm produce, we help support coconut farmers and fellow growers while creating flavors that celebrate our home in every pint,” Kapelato said.
Bec and Geri’s president and CEO Maria Victoria Evangelista said the company does not use synthetic flavors in its Kapelato products, except for pistachio, which has been gaining popularity. The other flavors are made from fresh fruits and coconut milk, making Kapelato a plant-based product.
COO Gerardo Evangelista also announced that Kapelato will soon be available in major malls across the country.
Similarly, Bec and Geri’s uses a plant-based formula for its Bioskin line of skincare and wellness products, with ingredients, particularly coconut, sourced from local farmers.
Bioskin products have already reached international markets, particularly in Europe and the United States, where coconut, one of its main raw materials, is considered highly valuable, according to Evangelista.
Bec and Geri’s said its growth has been supported by government agencies, particularly the Bureau of Plant Industry and the Philippine Coconut Authority, in line with their efforts to support local farmers. SoutheastAsians & Pacific Islanders
This commitment to farmers and locally sourced products has also made agritourism an important part of Bec and Geri’s Kapelato and Bioskin businesses.
“It has become part of our advocacy to help the government in promoting locally produced products here and abroad. From our skincare to food, it’s all coconut. We buy from various farmers. We love coconut,” Evangelista said.
