The augmentation force comes from the 27th Infantry (Action) Battalion and 72nd Infantry (Gabay) Battalion. They were deployed with 19 military trucks and an ambulance to reinforce existing security operations of the 6th and 11th Infantry Divisions within their respective areas of responsibility.
10ID Commander Major General Alvin Luzon led the send-off ceremonies for the two battalions held on September 10 and 11 in Paquibato District, Davao City, and Arakan, Cotabato Province, respectively.
Luzon said the deployment is aimed at helping establish a secure and stable environment where BARMM residents can freely exercise their right to vote.
He reminded the troops to remain politically neutral and to observe the law, human rights, discipline and restraint while carrying out their duties.
“Ang inyong presensya ay dapat magbigay ng seguridad at kapanatagan, hindi pangamba o panghihimasok,” Luzon said.
With the additional personnel, the 10ID now has a total of 1,444 troops committed to support the BARMM parliamentary elections, backed by 43 military trucks and eight wheeled armored vehicles.
The military said its deployed forces will coordinate with partner units and other stakeholders to help ensure a safe, peaceful, orderly and credible electoral process across BARMM.
