10ID trains 550 CAFGU auxiliaries to support territorial defense, sustain peace gains

MAWAB, Davao de Oro – The Philippine Army's 10th Infantry formally opened the training of 550 Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit (CAFGU) Active Auxiliaries at the 10th Division Training School (10DTS) in Mawab, Davao de Oro on June 30, 2026.

The 45-day training is designed to enhance the participants' military skills, discipline, and operational readiness, preparing them to perform territorial security and sustainment roles in support of the Division's operational requirements. Upon completion, qualified CAFGU Active Auxiliaries may be deployed to patrol bases in coastal areas and other strategic locations to complement the Philippine Army's Comprehensive Archipelagic Defense Operations and Territorial Defense Operations, while continuing to help sustain the peace and security gains across the Division's insurgency-free Area of Responsibility.

Major General Alvin Luzon, Commander of the 10th Infantry (Agila) Division, underscored the importance of continuously developing a competent and mission-ready auxiliary force capable of responding to the Army's evolving operational requirements.

"Well-trained and disciplined CAFGU Active Auxiliaries remain vital partners in sustaining the peace and security gains we have achieved. Through this training, we continue to build a capable and mission-ready force committed to serving our communities and protecting our people," Maj. Gen. Luzon said.

The training underscores the 10th Infantry (Agila) Division's continuing commitment to developing capable force multipliers who will support territorial security, secure key installations and patrol bases, assist in sustainment operations, and contribute to the successful implementation of the Philippine Army's Comprehensive Archipelagic Defense Operations while preserving the hard-earned peace and stability in Southeastern Mindanao.
