The plus stands for vaccination, Davao City COVID-19 Task Force Spokesperson Dr. Michelle Schlosser said Wednesday (Jan. 26).
Schlosser underscores the importance of contact tracing and testing with those manifesting COVID-19 symptoms, as well as the isolation of COVID-19 positive patients and quarantining of close contacts.
Schlosser confirmed the earlier statement of Mayor Sara Duterte that the current surge of Covid cases in the city which is seen to last until middle of March is triggered by the highly transmissible Omicron vibrant.
“Allow us to assist you with our Covid management. Give us a chance to help you and to mitigate the risk of infection by doing the PDITR plus.,” Schlosser said.
She understands the hassle which affected individuals will be facing if they will come out. However, she said it’s the only way to alleviate the spread of infection thereby reducing the number of Covid-19 cases in the city.
If we want the surge to end early then we have to follow these strategies and guidelines, she added.
