“As of today, there is no vaccination site that is closed,” Dr. Michelle Schlosser said over Covid Alert program aired in Davao City Disaster Radio today (Jan.19).
Schlosser made the statement even as she confirmed that some personnel assisting in the vaccination operation at People’s Park contracted the coronavirus.
“That’s true, there are covid cases at people’s park. We replaced them with new personnel to make the site clean. We will not stop our operation because time is of the essence. Vaccination is the best protection in our battle against Covid,” Schlosser said.
She clarified that the city government has been and will be doing its back up plan of replacing all personnel assisting in the vaccination or any other relatedCovid-19 health services such as swabbing, contact tracing, or those assigned at the Temporary Treatment Monitoring Facilities who contracted the virus.
She also said that circumstances wherein city government health personnel are affected with the virus is normal especially when the number of Covid-19 cases climbs.
But the city sees to it to immediately replace the affected personnel, disinfect the areas where they were assigned to avoid further spread contamination.
Schlosser reiterated the city’s call on those who have yet to get their first and second doses, to get vaccinated as well as the boosters.
“Time really matters, before we know, Covid is already in our homes, so please go out and be vaccinated,” she appeals.
