CTTMO implements traffic scheme for Buhangin underpass

The Davao City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO) issued a traffic advisory on the temporary road closure of the Buhangin underpass from April 17 to May 11, 2026 to carry out essential repairs, ensuring that travel remains safe and efficient across the city.

Retired Police Major  Leonardo Pamplona, Acting Division Head for Traffic Enforcement and Street Management Division of the CTTMO, clarified that only the underpass will be closed, while the upper portion remains open to vehicles.

During the repair period, the CTTMO will implement a traffic scheme restricting left turns on several key junctions to ease congestion.

Motorists will not be allowed to make left turns from Tigatto Bypass Road to CP Garcia Highway and from Cong M. Garcia Road to the Cabantian Road, except heavy trucks.

There will be also no left turn from CP Garcia Highway to Buhangin Milan except heavy trucks and from Dumanlas road to CP Garcia Highway.

Pamplona added that advisory signages have already been installed across affected areas to guide motorists toward alternate routes and bypass roads, ensuring minimal disruption on daily travel.

That is very simple nga pag hangyo nga tumanon lang nato ang balaod trapiko, ” he said. CIO
