NFEM Sends Off BRP Artemio Ricarte (PS37) for 1st Leg of CORPAT PHILINDO-40

The Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao (NFEM) conducted a Send-Off Ceremony for BRP Artemio Ricarte (PS37) at SAFI Shipyard, Brgy. Tambler, General Santos City, as the vessel departed to participate in the 1st Leg of Coordinated Patrol Philippines–Indonesia-40 (CORPAT PHILINDO-40) on March 3, 2026.

BRP Artemio Ricarte will represent the Philippines in the joint coordinated border patrol along the Philippine-Indonesian maritime boundary, a critical sea lane that requires constant monitoring to address transnational security challenges. Its participation highlights the Philippine Navy’s sustained efforts to safeguard the nation’s maritime interests. Moreover, BRP Tubbataha (MRRV 4401) from the Philippine Coast Guard will also join the border patrol.

CORPAT PHILINDO is a bilateral maritime activity between the Philippines and Indonesia aimed at enhancing mutual trust, improving communication between naval forces, and ensuring coordinated responses against piracy, smuggling, illegal fishing, and other unlawful activities at sea.

NFEM reaffirms its commitment to protecting the nation’s territorial waters and supporting international maritime partnerships that foster peace and stability in the region.
