The Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (CSAFP), General Romeo S. Brawner Jr. led the ceremony as the Presiding Officer and the Guest of Honor and Speaker (GOHAS).
Brawner in his speech, emphasized the vital role of strong, capable leadership in fulfilling the Command's missions and objectives. He also highlighted EastMinCom's central responsibility in addressing and neutralizing security threats across Eastern Mindanao.
"I am very familiar with the mission of the Eastern Mindanao Command. It has been responsible for conducting joint operations against all threats to national security in Southeastern Mindanao, Central, and Northern Mindanao,” Brawner said.
Meanwhile, Orio reaffirmed his commitment to building on this legacy and driving the Command toward decisive and sustainable security gains.
"Our task now is to translate strategy into action. EastMinCom will ensure national directives are felt in every patrol base, coastal station, and community across our 17 Provinces,” Orio said.
“ We will dominate the battlespace across Regions 10 to 13 through precision, intelligence, and partnership with the local stakeholders,” Orio said.
He said all operations must be intelligence-driven, disciplined, and swift, adding to revisit their campaign strategies and fully utilize all available resources, realigning forces and boundaries if necessary, to defeat the remaining 9 NPA vertical units, 3 Regional Party Committees, and 4 Sub-Regional Committees to achieve total victory and make peace permanent.
Prior to his designation as EastaminCom chief, Orio, a member Philippine Military Academy (PMA) "Tanglaw-Diwa" Class of 1992, served as the Brigade Commander of the 402nd Infantry Brigade under the 4th Infantry Division (4ID) and the Commander of the 8th Infantry Division (8ID).
