The activity, held at a covered court in the affected barangay, featured games, food packs, toys, and a lively visit from popular mascot Jollibee, drawing cheers and laughter from the children and their families.
In a statement, the district office said the initiative aimed to help ease the trauma of the young fire victims and show them that the community stands behind them as they rebuild their lives.
“Dapat mapangitaan og paagi nga malipay ang mga bata para makalimtan nila ang trauma sa niaging sunog. Paningkamutan namo nga mapaagaan ilang adlaw-adlaw nga kahimtang samtang nagapaningkamot pa nga maka-bangon ang ilang pamilya," said Rep. Paolo Z. Duterte.
Parents thanked the organizers for giving their children a chance to smile again after losing their homes and belongings.
The First Congressional District Office also assured that it will continue to work with barangay officials and social welfare agencies to extend assistance to affected families while recovery efforts are ongoing.
