Davao City bypass road project 60% complete

Engineer Joselito Reyes, the project manager of the Davao City Bypass Construction Project, including the 2.240 Kilometer tunnel, is now 60 percent complete.

Reyes, during the media tour on Wednesday June 4 at the North Portal of the bypass road said that as of May 31, 2025 the total accomplishment is already 60 percent and this  includes roads, bridges, underpasses, overpasses, and other components  of the project. 

According to Reyes, both north and south bounds of the tunnel will be operational by the first  quarter of 2027.

The tunnel, which is set to be the longest mountain road tunnel in the Philippines  is just a part of the 45.5 kilometer bypass road beginning in Barangay Sirawan, Toril, Davao City and ends at Barangay J,P. Laurel, Panabo City in Davao del Norte.

Once completed, the travel time through both cities will be shortened  from 1 hour and 44 minutes to 49 minutes.
