Task Force Davao identified the arrested individual as alias Ariel, a resident of B45 LOT 24, Tibungco, Davao City.
He was arrested by a joint AFP-PNP checkpoint at around 8:15 p.m at Barangay Sirawan, Toril District, Davao City.
The suspect was aboard a white Toyota Vios taxi traveling Toward the city.
The suspect will be charged for violating the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs act of 2002.
TF Davao commander Colonel Rodrigo Mariñas emphasized the continued apprehension of illegal items at the city's entry points is a testament to the rigorous checkpoint operations being conducted by security forces to prevent illegal contraband from entering the city.
The suspect and the evidence seized were immediately handed over to Toril Police Station for proper disposition.
