The event, organized by the Association of Firearms and Ammunition Dealers (AFAD), will showcase a wide array of world-class imported and locally manufactured firearms, ammunition, and accessories.
The return of this prestigious event to Davao, often referred to as the "Crown Jewel of Mindanao," marks the first time the Defense and Sporting Arms Show (DSAS) has been held in the city since 2017.
“The last time we were here, it was a resounding success. Davao and its people have always been very welcoming, and we are thrilled to renew that strong connection," s AFAD spokesperson Alaric "Aric" Topacio said.
Topacio emphasized that the leadership of newly elected AFAD president Edwin Lim has been working tirelessly to ensure this year's show will be one of the best yet. "We're pulling out all the stops to make the Davao leg of the 30th-year celebration truly special," he added.
City Mayor Sebastian 'Baste' Duterte and Senator Ronald 'Bato' Dela Rosa are invited to grace the opening ceremony, which will kick off at 11 a.m. on the first day of the event.
"We're excited to bring the DSAS back to Davao. The people here have always shown great support for our mission of promoting responsible gun ownership," Topacio noted.
AFAD has lined up a series of activities during the three-day event, including seminars on safe gun handling, the legal process of acquiring firearms, and navigating the required government documents. In coordination with the Philippine National Police (PNP), the event will feature a one-stop area for the application and renewal of firearm licenses, with some products available for purchase within 24 hours.
Among the confirmed exhibitors are major industry players such as Trust Trade, PB Dionisio & Co. Inc., Armscor/Squires Bingham International, Tactical Corner, Inc., Hahn Manila Enterprises, Shooters Guns and Ammo Corp., and many others.
"This promises to be a truly spectacular event," Topacio concluded. "We're bringing the best products, the best people, and we can't wait to see our Dabawenyo friends in attendance.
“Dito sa show, makikita niyo ang lahat na available na baril dito sa Pilipinas na pwede sa mga civilian. So more than 1,000 firearms ang pwede nyong makita,” according to Topacio.
He said this is the perfect opportunity for the firearms enthusiasts in Mindanao to see all the guns available.
