The Kings beat the hard-fighting Visayas qualifier Colegio de Sta. Ana de Victorias Titans from Victorias City defeated Negros Occidental 99-79 in game two of their best-of-three Vis-Min championships at the Davao City Recreation Center on May 3.
The win allows the Kings to sweep their series 2-0 and get the coveted slot to compete against the top collegiate basketball teams in Metro Manila for the PCCL National Finals.
Knowing the urgency of the game, the Titans played superbly in the first quarter as young forward Rommel Hechanova provided the scoring for his team as they took a 27-25 lead against the home team Kings.
In the second quarter, the Kings used their trapping defense and fast break plays to take a massive lead at the half, 57-40.
The Titans, behind Aldave Canoy and Axle Pasaol, made a strong comeback in the third quarter to cut the lead to 74-65.
However, in the fourth and deciding quarter, the Kings made a strong play behind versatile forward Ian Gaslang, point guard Rico Quimpo, forward Chris Catarong, and center Wayne Gementiza to take the game away and the coveted crown.
