Simbajon, a resident of Panabo City, Davao del Norte, won the 14 and under division of the tournament after scoring 6.5 points.
A total of 46 chess players joined the division earlier.
Tabada, a resident of Tagum City, Davao del Norte, for his part, ruled the 1999 category after scoring 6.5 points.
The division also has 65 participating players.
