Lim, son of New City Commercial Center (NCCC) chief operating officer (CEO) Lafayette Alvarez Lim played superb defense for the team to ensure Singapore could not score many goals in their game.
The win also ended the Philippines' campaign in the tournament as they only finished third in their bracket with a record of one win and two defeats.
Despite the early exit in the tournament, the Philippines were still happy that they were able to win their final game after suffering defeats from host Indonesia and Vietnam.
Lim is one of the 24 Philippine Under-16 National Football Team players.
Lafayette is pleased with the inclusion of his son in the national football team that will compete in Indonesia.
"Woohoo, Matt! Making the team is already an awesome achievement. Whatever comes after are all bonuses and blessings," Lafayette said.
"We're proud of you, Matt. You sacrificed your summer vacation plans for this, and you made it. Give them your very best," Lafayette added.
Lim has represented Davao City and the Philippines in local, national, and international football tournaments.
Aside from his skills, his dedication to the sport makes Lim a standout football player.
