This developed after three station commanders of General Santos City Police Office (GSCPO) were sacked following a surprise inspection whichTagum conducted on November 18.
Tagum in a statement said he will continue to conduct surprise inspections in the future to ensure that they are doing their responsibilities as leaders to their respective offices.
“We do not condone this act of irresponsibility within the organization. As the Regional Director of this PRO, we must provide quality service to the public and always make sure that all policemen are doing their corresponding task while on duty for this is our way of returning the public’s trust and confidence to the police” Tagum said.
Tagum said he immediately ordered the relief of the three station commanders identified as Maj Rommel Constantino of Police Station 1, Maj. Yol HIilado of Police Station 3 and Capt. Abdul Salam Mamalinta of Police Station 4 who were caught absent from their posts during the random inspection.
He said these officers were already sent to their new assignments. (Armando Fenequito)
