Aside from Philippine chess team coach James Infiesto and player National Master Henry Lopez, veteran arbiter Jojen Palero is part of the chess competition, the biggest sporting event for people with disabilities in Southeast Asia.
Palero is part of the international arbiters, or referees, of the chess competition, which is participated in by some of the top teams in Southeast Asia.
The Davaoeno arbiter is proud and happy to officiate the chess competition in which the Philippines is one of the top teams.
Palero is considered one of the pillars of chess not only in Region 11 but the entire Philippines as well.
