BOC-Davao assures help to BARMM for Bangsamoro Barter Trade

DAVAO CITY – The Bureau of Customs - Port of Davao (BOC-Davao) has assured the Bangsamaro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) to help on their Bangsamaro Barter Trade activities.

The BOC Davao  in a statement said they are committed to provide full assistance in the smooth implementation of policies and principles on Mindanao Barter Trade. 

In the recent Bangsamoro Barter Trade Council Technical Working Group Meeting, the customs policies and procedures on the lawful entry of goods were discussed with the stakeholders last June 8. 

 During the meeting, the BOC Davao, represented by Parang Sub-port Collector lawyer Mohammad M. Ben-Usman, talked about several customs policies specifically the registration and accreditation of the importers and exporters as well as the needed requirements for customs clearance, the calculation of customs duty and taxes, and the types of importations and exportations. 

The said meeting was facilitated by the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) and was attended by the barter traders in Cotabato City and in BARMM and by various concerned government agencies such as the BARMM-MARINA, the BARMM - Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform, the BARMM Ministry of Trade, Investments and Tourism, the Philippine Coastguard, and other stakeholders.
