Bulanadi, Suerte back in Gilas pool for 2023 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers (VIDEO)

DAVAO CITY –Two fast-rising Davaoeño basketball players are once again part of the Philippine Gilas pool for the 2023 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers in February.

Lefty sharpshooter Allyn Bulanadi who is based in this city and Monkayo, Davao de Oro scorer Rey Suerte started training on November 13 for the February window of the 2023 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers at Moro Lorenzo Sports Center in Quezon City. 

Gilas will go up against South Korea twice; then India and New Zealand come to the February window.

Bulanadi, who was drafted fourth by the Alaska Aces in the 2019 PBA draft, is a former high school basketball varsity of Assumption School of Davao.

He started to make a name in Metro Manila while playing for the San Sebastian Stags where he is known as a deadly shooter.

He also played in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) for Basilan Steel.

Suerte for his part made a name for himself when he transferred to Cebu City and played for the University of Visayas Green Lancers.

He carried the Green Lancers to three college basketball titles. After his stint with the Lancers, Suerte played for the University of the East Red Warriors where he leads the team in scoring. (Romeo Braceros Jr.)
