A total of 110 households in four sitios of San Isidro, Davao del Norte were the latest recipients of Nordeco through the Sitio Electrification Program (SEP).
On Saturday (April 23) Nordeco held the switch on ceremony in Purok 6, San Nicholas; Purok 8, Sta. Cruz and Purok 9 and 10 in New Jagna in Kipalili, San Isidro, in Davao Del Norte.
Nordeco said the project costs P7,246,949.79 covering a total of 7.27 kilometers of power line.
San Isidro Municipal Mayor Arnel H. Sitoy led the ceremony together with Municipal Councilors, Brgy.Captain Cirilo Lamsen and Barangay Officials, and NORDECO Area 3 Manager, Engr.Nielo A. Japay.
Lamsen said the 110 households are more than thankful for the development as they can now experience the benefits of having electricity in their residences.
“NORDECO continues to provide electric service in remote areas. Way back in 1969, electric cooperatives started lighting up rural areas towards sustainable rural development as mandated by the National Government,” Nordeco in a statement said.
The 110 households form part of the 600 sitios under Nordeco’s franchise.
The national government has partnered with Electric Cooperatives (ECs) to implement its program of energizing the countryside.
The franchise of Nordeco covers the areas of Davao del Norte and Davao de Oro which will expire in 2028 except for Samal, which will expire in 2033.
