Each driver got P3,000 fuel cash from the city government through the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO).
The program is under the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)’s Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS).
City Information Office (CIO) reported that as of Tuesday (April 19), a total of 873 PUJ and taxi drivers in Davao City have availed of the cash assistance.
CSWDO Davao Senior Social Work Associate Habib Pagilongon said that the payout conducted at the People’s Park was for the first and second batch of drivers submitted to DSWD.
“Another batch is coming. Those who are interested may visit the nearest CSWDO District Office and inform the workers that you want to avail this program,” Pagilongon said.
He said they validate the documents or proof that the drivers submit.
During the payout, the drivers were instructed to bring the original and a photocopy of their Barangay Certificate and valid ID and photocopy with signatures.
Pagilongon said that those who wanted to avail the program may send a message through the CSWDO Facebook account, City Social Welfare and Development Office - Davao.
