The city is recognized as Top Performing Highly Urbanized City for excellent and timely management of vaccination data.
City Vaccination Cluster head Dr. Josephine Villafuerte of the Davao City COVID-19 Task Force received the plaque of recognition for the city during the awarding rites held on March 22 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
The plaque was signed by DICT Secretary Emmanuel Rey R. Caintic, DILG Secretary Eduardo Año, and DOH Secretary Francisco Duque III.
The same award was also given to Marikina City of the National Capital Region (NCR) and Iloilo City of Region 6.
The city launched in October 2021 a digital vaccination certificate booth at the Teen Center Facility near People's Park for Dabawenyo migrant workers scheduled to travel abroad and has been expanded to cater to the general public.
The city-managed VaxCert PH issuance, meanwhile, is currently available in designated hubs in Davao City's selected malls. The VaxCert PH booths opened this month at the Abreeza Ayala Malls, SM Lanang Premier, and SM City Davao.
Villafuerte said the city decided to open more booths to cater to more Dabawenyos since the Teen Center has become crowded and there is usually a long queue of people there.
Primary doses of anti-COVID-19 vaccines administered to an individual, according to her, will be reflected on the vaccination certificate.
