Thompson tallied superb all-around numbers of 20.0 points on an efficient 14-of-27 clip, 12.5 rebounds, and 8.5 assists in their two-game faceoff.
Earlier, Thompson landed in sixth place for the top trending searches for male personalities in Google Philippines for 2021.
The former player of Agro Foundation College here ranked even higher than Milwaukee Bucks superstar forward Giannis Antetokounmpo who only landed in eighth place.
Thompson recently signed a shoe deal with local sportswear brand World Balance and became the new face of the widely popular shoe brand.
Thompson, a former 2018 PBA Finals most valuable player and a five-time PBA champion is the second PBA player to be signed by the shoe brand after Philip Cesar.
The World Balance executives said they decided to sign Thompson due to his grit and hard work in the PBA.
"We are thrilled to add him to our WB family," said Barry Chang, president of CHG Global Incorporated.
According to reports, part of the contract of Thompson is to have his own shoe brand, a first to any Mindanaoan professional basketball player.
Thompson is feeling good these days since he signed a three-year maximum contract extension with Ginebra last March 12, 2021.
The maximum extension means Thompson will get the maximum PBA salary of P420,000 a month.
Thompson is happy with the contract extension. (Romeo Braceros Jr.)
