Major Robert Escalona Jr., the civil military office head of Philippine Army’s 1001st Infantry Brigade based in Maco, Davao de Oro identified the suspect as Victor P Rollon also known as Rico Rollon with aliases GO/PONG/MIGO.
Escalona said Rollon is a bombmaker of Komisyong Mindanao (KOMMID) and Southern Mindanao Regional Committee (SMRC).
Also arrested during the operation are Christine Joy Adorza Dula alias RYE/RAYRAY, the Finance Officer of Weakened Guerrilla Front 3, Sub-Regional Committee 4(SRC4), SMRC; and Chargelyn Monta Casquejo alias GAB/JILLIAN, Political Instructor of Pulang Bagani Command (PBC), Regional Operations Command (ROC), SMRC.
According to Escalona they got information about the presence of suspicious armed persons in said barangay that prompted them including members of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) to conduct the operation.
Record showed that Rollon has existing three Warrants of Arrest issued by local courts in the region for murder, serious illegal detention, and robbery in band.
Dula is wanted for the crime of rebellion while Casquejo is facing homicide charges.
Authorities were able to recover in their possessions two Improvised Explosive Device; 5.56mm M16 Colt rifle; caliber 45 pistol; magazines; several ammunition; stethoscope, thermometer, sphygmomanometer, cellphones, sim cards, and CPP-NPA documents.
1001st Brigade Commander Brigadier General Jesus P Durante III lauded the troops' accomplishment on apprehending the said personalities.
“Your dedication to duty speaks well of your accomplishment. Despite the imminent danger that you are facing, you still managed to apprehend these notorious personalities without firing a single shot”, Durante said.
Durante renewed his call to the remaining terrorists who are still in the mountains waging war against the government to surrender.
“Surrender now and avail the program of the government designed for returnees – the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program,” Durante added.
